It’s Tuesday, so that means it’s time for today’s edition of The Bachelor roundup. Last night’s episode featured the dreaded 2-on-1 date. That’s the episode that comes once each season, in which the Bachelor takes two girls on a date and by the end of the date, he must choose only one to give a rose. The other girl gets sent home instantly (after a few gratuitously humiliating camera shots of her stewing in rejection). In recent seasons, the Bachelor has spiced up the 2-on-1 dates by making sure the two girls who get sent on this date are archenemies, so they’re not just competing for the guy and the rose, but battling to vanquish their foe. (If you read last week’s Bachelor post, you’ll be familiar with Corrine, so you might like to know she was one of last night’s 2-on-1 competitors).
Anyway, ever the reality show host, tonight Donald Trump is hosting his own 2-on-1 date. At 8:00 tonight, Trump will be announcing his nominee for the vacant Supreme Court seat. But of course, being Trump, he couldn’t simply announce his pick at a press conference like most Presidents before him have done. Nope, he had to call his TWO finalists to Washington, D.C. for the announcement. Apparently, neither man knows if he will be the choice, and people close to Trump are telling reporters that until he makes his announcement, Trump could still change his mind. So, Neil Gorsuch and Thomas Hardiman are in D.C. anxiously awaiting their fates. And tonight on prime time television, America will find out which one of them gets Trump’s rose.
